Dr. Paul Kasrovi
Dr. Paul Kasrovi completed his doctoral and postdoctoral education at UCSF, receiving both a specialty certificate in Orthodontics and a Master of Science degree in Oral Biology. Dr. Kasrovi is board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics. Before making a career change to dentistry, he had received a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from USC and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and worked as a systems engineer for AT&T Bell Laboratories.
In addition to his commitment to the group practice, Dr. Kasrovi is a Clinical Professor at the UCSF School of Dentistry, division of Orthodontics where he has been teaching since 1995. He is also an adjunct professor, in the Department of Orthodontics, at the UOP Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry. Dr. Kasrovi has served as a Clinical Supervisor at the orthodontic teaching clinic at La Clinica de La Raza in Oakland.

Dr. Kasrovi is a published author of articles in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, the Journal of the California Dental Association, and the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists Bulletin. He has had his research presented at the meetings of the International Association of Dental Research and the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research. He has lectured on orthodontic care locally, nationally, and internationally.
Dr. Kasrovi and his wife, Leila, have two children, Dara and Kiana. Dr. Kasrovi enjoys spending time with his family and is passionate about traveling, skiing, soccer, Bay Area sports teams, and playing bass guitar in a local East Bay band.
Dr. Nancy Ung
Dr. Nancy Ung earned her undergraduate degree at Stanford University in 1982 with a Bachelors of Science in Biological Sciences with Honors. Following that, she received her Dental Degree from Harvard University in 1987 and graduated Summa Cum Laude.
While at Harvard, Dr. Ung was simultaneously a Public Health Fellow and received her Master’s in Public Health with a specialty in Health Policy and Management / International Policy along with her Dental Degree. Subsequent to that, she returned to the West Coast and attended the University of Washington, where she completed both her Certificate and Master’s Degree in 1989 in the specialty of Orthodontics. During her training, she was a U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Officer, which allowed her to pursue her interest in research at the National Institute of Health.
Presently, Dr. Ung is a Clinical Professor at UCSF and has taught the UCSF orthodontic residents at La Clinica de la Raza in Oakland since 1990. She has served on the Editorial Board for both the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, and the Angle Orthodontist.

Dr. Ung is a published author of numerous articles in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, Journal of Clinical Oncology, and the International Journal of Technology Assessment in Health Care. She has had her research presented at the meetings of the American Dental Association, the International Association of Dental Research, the International Health Technology Assessment in Health Care Conference, and the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists. She has received numerous awards, including international recognition for her research performed at Harvard, as well as her work at the University of Washington.
Dr. Ung is a Bay Area native who spends her free time with her joyful daughter, Natalie, who is a happy work in progress. The rest of her time is spent with her hobbies and activities, which keep her out of trouble.
Dr. Nga Hoang
Dr. Nga Hoang is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthodontics. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with Highest Honors at UC Davis. She then received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from UCSF, where she stayed to continue three more years of specialization training, earning her both a specialty certificate in Orthodontics and a Master’s of Science degree in Oral and Craniofacial Sciences. Outside of private practice, Dr. Hoang is a Volunteer Professor at the UCSF School of Dentistry, Division of Orthodontics, where she has been teaching the orthodontic residents since 2013. She also serves as an Attending Clinical Faculty at the orthodontic teaching clinic at La Clinica de La Raza in Oakland, where she teaches orthodontic treatment using removable appliances.

Dr. Hoang is the Editor-in- Chief of UCSF’s OrthoNews. She has published her research in Progress in Orthodontics. She has also presented her research at the meetings of the American Association for Dental Research, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, and the American Association of Orthodontists. She was awarded the Joseph E. Johnson Clinical Award from the American Association of Orthodontists in May 2013.
Dr. Hoang is the youngest of five children and is a busy aunt of four nieces, seven nephews, and one great-nephew. She and her husband, Ravi, are avid hikers and lovers of the outdoors. She also loves salsa dancing!
